Madeline Ross, MBA
In addition to her experience in the health and fitness industry, Madeline brings to The SuperSlow Zone more than 15 years experience as an executive coach, entrepreneur, educator, and speaker. She has worked with organizations in the USA, Europe and Latin America where she designed and deployed a systems approach to sales, quality assurance, customer satisfaction, referral stimulation, and internal and external marketing. Madeline studied leadership, entrepreneurship and innovation with Hecht and Associates in San Jose, California, and completed fives years of study at The Center for the Study of Somatics and Leadership culminating in her certification as a Somatics Coach. She earned a BA at Colorado College, and an MBA at Kennedy Western University. Brenda Hutchins Brenda, co-founder of SuperSlow with husband Ken, brings to The SuperSlow Zone 23 years of experience in the field of strength training and diet research. Prior to co-founding SuperSlow, she worked for Nautilus Sports Medical Industries, where she contributed to the oversight of the Nautilus-sponsored Osteoporosis Research Project at the University of Florida Medical School in Gainesville. Concurrently, she served as a speaker and panelist, fielding questions during regularly scheduled Nautilus Seminars on such topics as women’s strength training, fat loss, and osteoporosis. During her stint with Nautilus, Ellington Darden, Ph.D. commissioned Brenda to develop moderately reduced calorie diet regimens, and incorporated her work in the following books:
Ken Hutchins Ken Hutchins brings to The SuperSlow Zone more than 27 years of experience in the field of strength training. Ken was hired by Arthur Jones (the founder of Nautilus Sports Medical Industries and MedX) in 1971, during which time he began his career as a proofreader and technical writer with Ellington Darden, Ph.D., Nautilus’ Director of Research. He also served as an athletic trainer, physical therapist, and speaker, addressing scores of Nautilus Clinics annually. In 1982, Ken wrote SuperSlow: The Ultimate Exercise Protocol, and refined its application by supervising over 8000 one-on-one SuperSlow exercise sessions between 1982 and 1986. For The SuperSlow Zone, Ken will serve as a marketing and PR speaker and writer, develop new and improved equipment, and refine the SuperSlow Instructor Certification program. Mike Assum, MBA For the past 25 years, Mike Assum has consulted with Fortune 500 companies in large systems change, continuous improvement, rapid sustained growth, improved competitive effectiveness, improved quality and best relative value, mergers and acquisitions, and new startups through improved thinking and thinking processes. His clients include ExxonMobil, Pacific Telesis, Techtronix, Clorox, ICI, Toyota, Dupont, Procter & Gamble, Mars, Morton Thiokol, McGraw-Hill, and Raychem. Charles B. Christian, Jr., M.D. Dr. Christian is a Cardiac/Thoracic Surgeon, and Certified SuperSlow Instructor. He specializes in the prevention and treatment of coronary atherosclerosis and the metabolic syndrome, essential fatty acid metabolism, osteoporosis evaluation, and nutrition. He is a member of the Texas Transplant Institute Cardiac Transplantation/Ventricular Assist Device Team and provides other Adult Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery Services for the South Texas Area. Dr. Christian is the only OmegaRx™ Zone Nutrition Consultant in San Antonio certified by Dr. Barry Sears. He is a frequent speaker for the American Heart Association and the Mayor’s Fit City Initiative on nutrition and the prevention of cardiovascular disease. Miles Douglas McGuff, M.D. Dr. McGuff is a partner with Blue Ridge Emergency Physicians, P.A. and a Certified SuperSlow Instructor. He and his associate Clay Brunson also own and operate Ultimate Exercise, a licensed SuperSlow facility where they continue to explore the limits of exercise. Philip J.Blount, M.D. Dr. Blount, a Certified SuperSlow Instructor, joined the Mayo Clinic in 2004 on a research fellowship where his focus is on SuperSlow strength training and its use in aggressive rehabilitation. He speaks throughout the US at medical symposiums about the benefits of SuperSlow as evidenced by his research. Gary Lindahl, SuperSlow Master Gary Lindahl is a SuperSlow Master and lead advisor for SuperSlow Physical Therapy Rehab. He oversees the design, development, and implementation of all aspects of the SuperSlow rehab program. He is a Registered Physical Therapist in private practice for 38 years, during which time he managed 7 hospital/rehab facilities. Since January 1999, Gary has used SuperSlow as the exclusive rehab protocol for his study group comprising 1000 individuals in more than 24,000 exercise sessions. His study group constitutes sixteen medical diagnosis and health conditions. He sees approximately 40 patients per day, 5.5 days per week that receive one-on-one SuperSlow rehab treatments. Ryan Hall, SuperSlow Master Ryan Hall is a SuperSlow Master, and the President and co-owner of One to One Personal Training and Clinical Exercise, LLC. He brings to The SuperSlow Zone more than 15 years of experience in health and fitness as an entrepreneur, practitioner and researcher. His graduate studies and research have concentrated on biomechanics, the specificity of speed in exercise, clinical adult and childhood obesity, changes in hormone concentrations with exercise, physiological responses to overreaching and overtraining, biochemical responses to eccentric exercise, antioxidant nutrients, and the prevention of cardiovascular disease. Lou Abato, SuperSlow Master Lou Abato, a SuperSlow Master, owns and operates two SuperSlow facilities in New York offering personal strength training and exercise-based rehab. Lou has strength trained professionally for 25 years, including 8 years as a Rehab Specialist in a medical setting. As part of Lou’s experience in high intensity training, he has also competed as a natural bodybuilder. |

Prior to founding The SuperSlow Zone, Madeline was the CEO of Gylanix Institute, where, over a period of 6 years, she designed and delivered the business systems that are being implemented in all of The SuperSlow Zone franchises. In doing so, she worked closely with Ken Hutchins and approximately forty SuperSlow and non-SuperSlow facilities which served as real-world business and market laboratories for testing and refining all the business systems that constitute a successful turnkey franchise.
